Founder Story
Alberto Barea is a Consultant Nurse with 18 years’ experience in dermatology, working across South West London. Over his career, he has led high-performing clinical teams recognised nationally. He independently manages complex caseloads across inflammatory skin disease and skin cancer, with commitment to safe, clinician-led innovation.
Alongside clinical leadership, Mr Barea has built a strong academic and research profile. He is a senior Principal Investigator with an active portfolio of clinical studies in psoriasis and AD, and has authored or co-authored peer-reviewed publications in leading journals. He has also contributed to regional transformation work in dermatology and contributed to education as a speaker at national and international meetings.
Over the years, Mr Barea has seen professional development become harder to access: clinical demand has increased, time is scarce, and high-quality opportunities are dispersed across crowded inboxes and competing priorities—often missed simply because they are lost in the noise.
Meanwhile, social media is reshaping patient expectations and AI is rapidly entering everyday workflows. Many clinicians want to stay credible, engage safely, and build skills beyond clinical practice, but development remains fragmented despite multidisciplinary working. With a strong interest in technology and innovation, Alberto has completed courses in applied AI for business, focused on practical methods to improve productivity, decision-making, and scalable service design.
Bright Med is Alberto’s response: a modern, human-centred platform designed to make learning, collaboration, and professional development easier to access—without adding to overload. In 2025, he received the Stone Achievement Award, recognising exceptional contributions and sustained commitment to advancing dermatology nursing.

OUR CONSULTANT
Gina is a consultant at Bright Med, specialising in strategic planning and business development. She brings over ten years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including seven years working within dermatology at a global pharmaceutical company. Through this role, she developed a deep understanding of the daily pressures faced by dermatology healthcare practitioners, as well as the educational gaps that exist within the specialty.
Having worked closely within ABPI guidelines, she saw first-hand the great work pharma do at providing medical education for HCP's, however, also experienced some of the limitations. This inspired her to work with Alberto to build Bright Med as a truly independent, dermatology focused platform.
Passionate about making a real difference, Gina is driven by the belief that healthcare professionals deserve easy access to development that empowers them and simplifies their working lives.
